Bug report version 1.10

Postby rdcinhou on Mon Oct 23, 2006 1:00 am

I've managed to create a bug that doesn't even seem to be correctable by uninstalling Diashow v1.10 and reinstalling it:

After moving an image file that was pointed to in a Diashow file, the program gave an error message but recovered. I used the DELETE function to delete the errant image from the show file, but afterward the ADD function refused to work.

I first deleted the \SYSTEM\APP\DIASHOW\DIASHOW.INI file to see if it would fix the problem. No luck there.

I then uninstalled DIASHOW completely, deleted the .db and .thm files and reinstalled from a fresh downloaded copy. Still no luck.

I'm running it on a Nokia 9300 with:

S80Util OPX version 1.50
OPL Runtime version 1.56

Any suggestions?

ps. This is otherwise an EXCELLENT program!

I forgot to mention that the ADD button now doesn't work for any of the Diashow files, even NEW ones. Neither does the ADD function work from the pull-down menu.

Did you try creating a new diashow from the File manager (File - New - and then in the listbox select Diashow). This should create a new diashow with all the new button enabled.

There are still some issues in Diashow when files cannot be found and I'm currently working on fixing them. I'll post here when the new version can be downloaded.

Is the Add button enabled? If not than I don't understand what's happening, but if it is, then maybe you've deleted a standard folder that Diashow is looking for (C:\My Files - or the equivalent in your language).

If this folder does not exist, the Add function bombs out (will be fixed in version 1.2). To get it working, simply create the folder on C: and Diashow should work again. If you want an intermediate version of Diashow where this problem is fixed, please send me your email address.

If this is not the problem, let me know and I'll send you a debug version of Diashow that creates a log file so I can see what happens on your machine.

Yes, the ADD button was enabled (as was the pull-down IMAGE->ADD pick.

The "standard" directory used by all other applications is "MyFiles" (no space), so when Diashow created "My Files" (with space), it was an aggravation.

So I named its directory (what else?) "Diashow". It was after that when the problems started.

After renaming the directory back to "My Files", the ADD button now works again.

MYSTERY SOLVED.
